Francis Xavier Aloisio

altFrancis Xavier Aloisio was born on the island of Malta but spent more than half of his life abroad, first in Peru as a missionary priest and then in England where he eventually settled after resigning from the Church. He worked as a Probation Officer and Social Worker and eventually became Chief Executive of a Charity in Sussex UK caring for people with learning disabilities.

While abroad, he could appreciate more all that was Maltese although he realized that not many people knew about the temples of Malta. On his return home, he had a strong urge to find a way to promote the unique wealth of the Maltese prehistoric culture. Firstly he finished a collection of paintings depicting Malta’s journey from prehistory to contemporary history. After the successful exhibition of these paintings, he exchanged the brush to the pen and started doing his own research on the Temples. He completed a trilogy on the temples of Malta, and Islands of Dream is the first of this opus where the hidden mysteries of the prehistoric sites of Malta and Gozo are uncovered and revealed.

Francis started painting late in his life as a way of self-expression, but he went on to do the Certificate in Art at the University of Brighton. He draws his inspiration from his Maltese background and his experience in South America. He is also interested in complementary therapies and healing practices, and has had some hands-on experiences in UK and Canada. He is a visionary artist, writer, healer and teacher.
